Carl Block

I had the wonderful priviledge last week to enter the Museum Of Art and see the work of Carl Block.I really liked his paintings and i thought they were really awesome.I was especially drawn to the painting of The daughter of Jairus.It stood out to me not onmy because it is a big and bold painitng but also beacause of the story behind it.It shows a mother who is sitting near her now dead daughter and it seems as if she has died over night and her mother has stayed with her all nigth till the light of the first dawn.Jesus Christ appears at the door and and he has brought with him life.

I especially like this painting because it tells me that although i might face dark and trying times.I must hold on and keep the faith.Just like morning follows night, joy will come after the pain.Our Heavenly Father will always be there to turn our night into day.We should not give up.Just as the mother who stayed with her daughter.

A Child Of God

In his talk , Elder Henry B Eyring mentioned pride. He spoke of how and why it is necessary for us to avoid pride.Pride leads to spiritual danger, i think this is true because when one becomes prideful , he tends to think he did it on his  own and that he can rely on his abilities and strength .This is definately not true because on our own we can not make it.This is why we must avoid pride.

a better way to avoid pride and i think is the best part of his talk is by simply remembering who god is and what it means to be his child.Surely bearing this in mind will help us avoid pride.Pride will make us lose friends and sometimes even our family.But when we remember his talk ,we will be reminded and encouraged to avoid it so as to also strengthen our relationships with our fellowmen and indeed avoiding pride will lead us to educational success.

I was reminded  that i am a child of God.What joy this brings to me.This also affects the way i view my fellowmen ,we are all his children.

idle thinking

So after writting a paper on The Ophelian Syndrome i totally learned that it is ok to foster idle thinking.Sometimes the answers will just come to us if we really do not concerntrate much on finding them.Others get their answers by taking hikes, playing basketball or even riding their bikes.Idle thinking frees the mind for creative ideas.My answers intrestingly enough seem to come after taking a nap.Weird huh?
